Want to work at the sweetest place in town! Cupcakes N Treats — La Porte’s first cupcake specialty shop — is currently taking applications for a part-time Baker/Decorator.
Baker/Decorator Position: Hours available are part time approximately 4 shifts per week and early morning shifts are required. Cupcakes N Treats is family owned and operated. We take pride in creating delicious, beautiful and fun desserts from scratch in which our staff AND our customers can be proud. We're looking for individuals with baking, pastry or comparable culinary experience who want to join our friendly team and share their love of baking and eye for detail. High volume and custom orders. Both baking AND decorating required.
Some responsibilities/job requirements include:
- Mixing daily recipes from scratch — from small batches to large quantities — for all cupcakes and frostings
- Consistent portioning
- Timing and follow-through on all recipes
- Skilled icing technique and handling of pastry bags and tools
- Color mixing for frosting, fondant, etc.
- Hand detailing for custom work
- Cleanliness in work area
- Ability to work both as a team and independently
